hangin’ tough: the casual ultimate movie
the weekend started off without a bang after all. with the promise of lowering a couch via a complicated cable and pulley system from the roof to the fourth floor deck of pfil’s new place, c.u. was certain that we would get some photos worthy of ‘faces of death: furniture edition.’ but no dice. in bjorn, tbrizzle, and paul’s capable hands the couch drop went surprisingly smoothy. miss casual took to the street with lauren to watch the couch go over the side. with a 40 oz. in one hand and a camera in the other i watched with the stunned car wash guys as the couch landed safely in the hands of dp and pfil on the deck.
of course saturday was the start of tuneup and ms. ulty can post a bit about their first day out since miss casual was holding it down with rick, bk, and liz on the funnest fall league team ever. we played savage since everyone was at the tournament / weddings / notre dame game but we played pretty well considering and yelled and giggled quite a bit which bodes well for the rest of the season. seriously…think of somebody fun who’s playing fall league. theyre on our team. (c.u. in no way wishes to offend our future opponants…unless it makes you more scared of us and in some way furthers our quest for victory). saturday night it was notre dame mayhem at the BR’s with all the south benders and Dan Baker even. here’s Baker wrestling with Mike D. sunday on the briefcase sideline. we missed you dan. were glad youre back.
the post title comes from carlo’s new haircut for the tourny which makes him an honorary new kid on the block. check out the photo below. you be the judge. sunday on the way to watch our business casual brothers and sisters rock their way to the finals, bk, rick and miss casual cast the entire casual ultimate movie. we are still taking suggestions for a few roles but generally here is the cast.
parker posey is miss casual
portia de rossi is ms. ultimate
will ferrell is dan baker
tom cruise is mike d.
the wilson brothers are the br’s (we think)
will arnett might be pfil
jet li is cho
chuck norris is bjorn
buster from arrested is joe little
jack black is russell
jeneane garofolo is sally
obviously whats his face from the o.c. is ferrari
i think vince vaughn could cameo as dr. mercer
maybe sarah silverman as becky? or lindsey lohan?
chuck is the only person cahrasmatic enough to play himself
so we have some obvious gaps to fill here…(akira, bk, thor and liz, dr. welsh etc.) so post suggestions or substitutions. *inspired casting will get you a v.i.p. pass to the launch party.*
coming soon to a theater near you…
here are some more photos from the tourny thanks to candice. (more coming later due to technical difficulties…)

After prevoking me to wrestle with him, Baker dropped like a sac of rocks in 12 seconds.

Um… I didn’t want my glasses to bend/break? It’s all about physics, my man. Your center of gravity kicked my COG’s ass in the 3-dimentional space! If we were 2-D, you wouldn’t have Tom Cruise playing you in the movie, it would would be Gary Coleman. Yeah, that bad!

Portia de Rossi as Ms. Ultimate? No no no. Julia Styles is her doppelgänger. Plus, it could be a career-making comeback for the young starlet.

slutkoski - we are going to need you to guest post at some point. for one you probably have lots of dirt on ms. ulty that we are not privy to since yall go way back. and two you have the ability to umlaut vowels which makes you our new ’secretary of hardcore punctuation’.

Julia Stiles came up as a casting possibility, but I don’t know that I want Ms. Ultimate - the role of a lifetime - to be her comeback after a string of student productions at Columbia. Although, it’s to her credit that she’s starred in at least one film from my favorite genre: inner-city youth overcomes obstacles of poverty and/or single parenthood via academics/dance-off/attitude.
Thor should be played by Ron Howard; he’s a little old, but remember Thor wears a suit and tie to work. I’m now on the fence about who Will Ferrell be - doesn’t he look a little like Pfil? And can we all agree that Sean William Scott should be worked in somehow, some role that requires pecs and few lines?

silverman is almost 40 with big black eyebrows. ouch. lohan is 16? and doesn’t wear underclothes (only bikinis for you superficial.com addicts) guess i left a lasting impression…
September 12th, 2006 at 2:24 pm
okay wait…how about christina applegate as becky? (shes cute and funny whereas silverman is just funny apprently and lohan is just cute.)
September 12th, 2006 at 3:11 pm
Bjorn IS Chuck Norris
Mike D IS Tom Cruise
Joe Little IS born slow
Mercer IS not a talker
How about:
The King (from Burger King) with voiceovers by Penn (from Penn/Teller) to play BK
Jim Carrey + wig as Dr. Welsh
Eric Stoltz as Thor
and Cho as Liz?

would it be out of line to include myself in this lineup and claim elijah wood

bex, at least sarah silverman is pretty hot. i went looking for any decent looking picture of jeaneane garafalo and totally got shut down. more importantly, she recently went blonde. i want a recast.

okay ladies can recast themselves. really the problem is finding actresses who are funny AND cute. i mean in all fairness its not like parker posey is cute. but shes damn funny.
