This morning I decided to ditch the train and ride the bus, since I’m sick and tired of waiting 20 minutes to ride an overcrowded and plague-infested steel box that makes me late to work. Turned out to be the best decision I’ve made in months, because it was **THE CHRISTMAS BUS** !!!! Several hours later I am still giddy from the experience. This bus was completely covered in shiny and colorful Christmas decoration: red ribbon wrapped around the poles, little velvet bows hung on the stop wire, lights all around, ornaments hung above the windows, red and gold ribbon on the windows themselves. It was magical. And to top it all off Christmas carols were playing on the speaker system! When’s the last time you heard The Chipmunks Christmas song? And isn’t Alvin wanting a hula hoop a little outdated these days? Anyway, it brought back memories and is making me love this snow. From now on, “christmas bus” synonymous with puppies, unicorns, she-ra and Saturday morning cartoons – all things that are shamelessly fantabulous and happiness-inducing.

okay i just had an idea...would anyone want to go christmas caroling sometime soon? i think it would be so fun if we all drank spiked hot chocolate and went through 60622 singing christmas songs. wed probably make friends and get free cookies. what do you think? who's comin with me man?

I'd do it, but not today - it's only December 1. I'd also want to brush up on my lyrics. I think it's a great idea, we would totally get cookies. We need to do it where all the hipster kids live, then drag them out caroling with us. I love strangers.

Btw, did you know that there's a CHRISTMAS TRAIN? Yep. The CTA is multi-mode and so is the X-mas spirit. I saw it last running on the Blue Line towards O'Hare. I actually rocketed by it in a cab after just missing it on the way up north.
