girl talk is the new black.

i am listening to plastikman's gak off of sheet one and it is so nostalgic for me. all i can think about is my hair being short as carlo's and blond and smoking kools.

i am listening to ryan adams right now. inspired by old school and substance abuse, i downloaded a little bit of 'to be young (is to be sad, is to get high)'. then i downloaded no diggity, followed closely by bill withers' lean on me. then i listened to songs 1 and 3 several times sequentially and started crying because i missed my friends stacey and dan. that's right people, even ms. ultimate cries sometimes. it's nothing to be ashamed of. but i did learn a valuable lesson: there are some things you shouldn't do after visiting the pretty ladies, and visiting the iTunes store is one of them.

phew, that was a thread-killer! don't worry, now it's kenny rogers. i have a soft spot in my heart for sappy country-rock music; it's right next to the soft spot for dreadful hip-hop lyrics. i can't wait for the dolly duet....

dude im not gonna lie, crying is a thread killer.

today is more girl talk, natch, the new madlib / talib kweli collabo that i downloaded FREE off of www.stonesthrow.com, and beck

    sweater song = new hotness

it was buddy holly, you are right, such sacrilege for calling jonas old and busted

i took a poll at the office and 2/2 people here think that sweater is the song to play off of the blue album

and 60% of the time we are right everytime

listening to sufjan stevens' illinois, a new year's gift from El. he wrote an album about Michigan in 2003 and he says he's gonna do all 50 states. fun and historic! i don't resarch using wikipedia, but... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sufjan_Stevens

In response to Pfil...the #1 song worthy of public listening to off Blue Album...In the Garage.

    Deal with it.

Who/What is Girl Talk? Do I need to buy album(s), go to concert(s), check 'em out?

Best of Al Green currently. Ladies..watch out.

    al green? call me.

Regarding Girl Talk, all of the above. We missed him as he was spinning new years at the Empty Bottle, but you should buy the album online or just get the songs from me. This album is like all your fave (and most annoying- fergie i'm talking to you) pop and hippity hop songs, and others, on one 40-minute album. Once you listen to this, everything else will seem so boring. It is addictive; I'm currently on a recovery plan so I was listening to radiohead this morning, but I'm sure I'll go back by this evening. Also, he has a funny interview on pitchfork (science nerd by day, heart throb DJ by night).

    worth a listen
