you know i was talking to ms. ulty about game of the week in atlanta. it was so much fun. they would get one field with lights and after all the other summer league games ended two teams would play under the lights and everyone would go out to drink beer and heckle the game. it was great. i know we are lucky enough to have piece to coordinate our after game shennanigans but it would be fun to get the game of the week to be a spectacle that people actually watched / cared about instead of just another line of information on the website.
that would be fun, although fieldspace would probably be a limiting factor. i never understood CUSL's "game of the week" concept, since it implied other players would watch this game. isn't everyone else playing at the same time?
but imagine how jammed theyd be if 90% of the people we know werent playing a game or already at home when game of the week went down! itd be like a KISS concert.
I thought there were a lot of people watching our second game on saturday, but turns out it was just the sideline for the field next to us. Also, miss casual had put up some cardboard cut-outs of some of my favorite TV characters (Claire Huxtable, ALF, etc.) so that I would feel like I had fans and therefore play better. It helped a little bit but I still turfed a couple.
hey ultimate7, do people crowd the sidelines when your team plays so they can see you spike the disc when you catch a dump pass (luckily) and hop in the endzone? Yeah that's right...talking shit on the casualultimate website. I love spring league.
