I finally saw Beerfest, and being a Wildcat, I had to look up some of the games (Depth Charge?) because I'd never heard of them. Which got me thinking and remembering that I saw Sarasota reference somewhere, maybe RSD, and I've never heard the rules. Care to enlighten me? Also, go ahead an list your favorite beer game. Fond reminiscing of caps in the morning.
Started by Brody at nationals in 2003 i think. About 6 of us were down there watching and the first night weren't feeling especially motivated to drink. Brody, being the inspirational leader he is, took all 75+ beers out of the fridge, placed them on the table, and then proceeded to open up every single on of them. We then played a game of up-down/red-black with various drinking rules until all the beers were gone.
I honestly don't remember the majority of the rules until we play it. Always a good time, helps alot to have brody there.
Thumper: We played some thumper at my house this winter (and in paga), its good fun and pretty easy for most to play (we added a quarters variant that adds a little more skill into the game).
I leave it as an exercise to the reader. If I get around to watching Beerfest again in HD, I will do some pausing to capture as many games as I can.
And I got the definition of depth charge from here. Basically, float a pint glass in a pitcher of beer. Take turns pouring beer into glass. Whoever sinks it loses, and gets to drink.
Some games I do remember off hand from Beerfest:
Monkey Chug Long Pour Trick Caps Das Boot Boat Race. Volume Chug Bat Spin chug Speed Quarters Beer Pong Beirut Thumper
These are all from the actual Beerfest itself, not counting the practices (which would include Asshole).
